The statement of teaching philosophy (STP) is the foundation of any teaching dossier, is often requested as part of an academic job application, and is an important part of the tenure and promotion process. This short statement needs to effectively communicate your ideas, beliefs, and values about teaching in a condensed space. In writing your STP, evaluation, feedback, and revision are almost essential to preparing an effective document. This workshop is intended for students who have previously attended the workshop on preparing a teaching dossier or for students who have already compiled a dossier. Working in small groups, students will have a chance to receive feedback and suggestions on their STP.

PLEASE NOTE: you will need to bring two copies (double-spaced) of a completed STP to this workshop.
