About the Teaching Assistants' Training Program (TATP)

The Teaching Assistants’ Training Program (TATP) is a peer-training program providing pedagogical support to the three campuses of the University of Toronto, through the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation. TATP currently serves teaching assistants and graduate students; programming is available for students currently enrolled in the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), regardless of teaching appointment, and members of CUPE Local 3902 Unit 1.

The TATP offers many services for TAs and graduate students throughout the year. These include:

TATP seeks to prepare graduate students and teaching assistants for the realities and demands of teaching by providing a peer-based support network. Pedagogical training is an essential step in the professional development of graduate students in a variety of careers paths whether that be academe or other professional options. Look for new seminars and workshops – designed for new and experienced TAs who already have teaching experience – throughout the year.
