Teaching Assistants' Training Program

Description

Each in-personMicroteaching session will involve 5 graduate student participants and 2 TATPfacilitators. Participants will take turns acting as instructors by takingtheir students (i.e., other participants and TATP facilitators) through a 10(ten) minute lesson over in a live classroom environment. Following theirlesson and a brief reflection, each instructor will provide a brief, verbalself-assessment, stating what they thought worked well in the presentation andwhat could be improved. The instructor will then receive verbal comments fromeach peer in the session and final comments from the TATP facilitator. Theinstructor will then end their session with a final self-assessment in light ofthe comments just received. All participants will be given time to fill out afeedback form for each instructor. Hard copies will be collected by the TATPfacilitators and distribute each peer feedback form to the respectiveinstructor at the end of the session.
