Description

As a helper in our community it is important to know how to support someone who is experiencing a mental health challenge.

In this workshop, we will discuss what it might look when supporting someone who is experiencing a mental health challenge in the context of instructor and faculty roles.  We will discuss some of the resources available to students, how to make these referrals, and the reporting protocols that exist within our spaces. We will use case-studies and open discussions to review the materials presented in the Identify, Assist, Refer (IAR) Online Training, and contextualize it to our setting.

To prepare for this training, we would like everyone to have a baseline understanding of mental health and the IAR model. Please complete the Identify, Assist, Refer online module as a prerequisite for IAR+ Training. The training module takes about 30 minutes to complete and participants will be issued a certificate confirming completion.
