Teaching Assistants' Training Program

This is a 4-hour training day for first-contract TAs

2 hours of general pedagogical training: 10am – 12pm

1 hour of tutorial training (Discussion Based Tutorials, Labs/Practicals, or Skill Based: Problem Sets): 12:15pm – 1:15pm

1 hour of grading: 1:30pm – 2:30pm

All departments may allow TAs to use this three-hour session as their paid mandatory training (per the collective agreement between C.U.P.E. 3902 and the University of Toronto). If this is the case, please read the information on Paid Training carefully. If you have any questions, please contact services.ta@utoronto.ca.

Departments may also choose to send returning TAs to the break-out portion of this training session in order to fulfill the tutorial training requirement. TAs with subsequent appointments can fill out this form, indicating they are returning TAs. They must select the appropriate tutorial training category for the break-out session.

Please note: returning TAs should NOT attend the first 2 hours of pedagogical training.
