Undergraduate science labs and practical sessions provide opportunities for students to apply their knowledge, bridging theory and application. To make the most of the limited time in the lab, students are required to prepare in advance and arrive with an understanding of the theory and the method. As educators, we want the lab to be an opportunity for deep learning and equip our students with the ability to integrate new knowledge accurately. However, diverse levels of student preparation can make running a lab session difficult for teaching assistants (TAs). This workshop offers TAs strategies and tools to prepare for science labs and practicals, including lesson planning, active learning, incorporating examples of concept-application linkages, and checking for understanding.

Please Note: this session will be running at the Univeristy of Toronto Scarborough on February 9th.  This registration page is for the session taking place at the St. George Campus.
