Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation, 130 St. George Street, Robarts Library, 4th floor
This 3-hour workshop will introduce you to the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, focusing on how it can be applied to course design, with the goal of reducing barriers to learning and creating an inclusive environment in your course. We begin by discussing the foundations of the UDL framework. We then explore the fundamentals of course design, and consider how the UDL framework can be applied to your learning outcomes, assessments, and teaching and learning activities. During the session, you will draft and receive feedback on the basic elements of a course proposal, and you will leave the session with a framework for a newly developed or redesigned course, including a general course outline, outcomes, and assessment scheme, all based within a UDL framework.
