nclusive design benefits everyone. The abrupt pivot to online learning in 2020 provided little to no time for course instructors and teaching assistants to address many online learning considerations. As we adapt to the rhythm of online teaching and learning, we take this opportunity to reflect on our current practices and consider strategies for improving accessibility and inclusivity in the online environment. This workshop will explore the intersection between accessibility and mental health, models of disability, and universal design for learning. Topics include creating a level learning space, accessible synchronous delivery, and accessibility awareness and professional development. In this workshop, participants will practice closed captioning in a synchronous context and locate further resources for accessibility awareness and skills training.
