Description

Inclusive design benefits everyone. The abrupt pivot to online learning in 2020 provided little to no time for course instructors and teaching assistants to address many online learning considerations. As we adapt to the rhythm of online teaching and learning, we take this opportunity to reflect on our current practices and consider strategies for improving accessibility and inclusivity in the online environment. This workshop will explore the intersection between accessibility and mental health, models of disability, and universal design for learning. Topics include creating a level learning space, accessible asynchronous delivery, and accessibility awareness and professional development. In this workshop, participants will learn how to create and evaluate accessible documents for asynchronous learning.
This workshop is part of a two-part series on accessible online learning. Please consider enrolling in Accessible Online Learning: Synchronous Tools (https://tatp.eve.utoronto.ca/home/events/1078); however, participants are not required to enroll in both parts of this series.
