What does social justice and equity look like when teaching online? In this workshop, attendees will learn about some of the best practices for incorporating these important aspects into online teaching.
This workshop will explore:1. Ways to improve access and inclusiveness in the online environment;
2. how to apply universal design for learning (UDL) to teaching and learning activities as well as learning outcomes and assessments;
3. how to mitigate unconscious bias when grading; and
4. how to grade equitably and in ways that support student growth
This workshop will use an interactive and co-constructive format to explore these 4 items, emphasizing self-reflection and dialogue.
