Whether it be powerpoint, demonstrations, or online resources, adding visual aids to your classroom can enhance student learning. But once you have your visual aid created, how can you make it accessible to all learners? In this workshop, we flip that question to ask instead: What goes into designing accessible visual aids from the beginning? By the end of the workshop, participants will know best practices for designing accessible visual aids, have created their own accessible visual aid, and be given resources to encourage thinking about how they can implement accessible practices to all areas of their teaching. Participants are encouraged to come to the workshop with a visual aid they would like to make accessible or an idea of something that they can turn into an accessible visual aid.
